RULES IN BLUE HAVE HAD CHANGES MADE TO THEM.
.) Register for a company. There are only 20 slots for companies.
.) After recieving your company board (located in the category below called "The Companies", you may begin developing projects.
.) Each company begins with $300 Million. As you lose, or gain money, it will be recorded on your account. We will know if you cheat.
.) After a project is completed, post a thread about it on your sub-board called finished projects. It must include the following information: release date, production budget, a sypnosis, and movie content (sexuality, drugs, etc.)-Closing Dates are now determined when a film recieves less than $50,000 in a weekend). You also no longer decide the theatre count, this is decided with how much money you spend on the film and the type of film (ie: action, romance, etc.), but YOU MAY offer a target count, to show admins where you think and want your film to be aimed at.
.) There are no budget minimums anymore, but your film will not do well if it has a realistic budget, nor will it be placed in a lot of theatres. Your movie's performance and theatre count are based on the budget of a film. A $60 million action flick will gain a lot more respect than a $15 million action flick. Whereas a chick flick may only cost $25 million to $35 million.
.) There is a maximum of four films per weekend, and we recommend that you only release 1 per month (but we do not enforce this), and only 12-14 per year (again we do not enforce this).
.) Be smart when scheduling a film. Do not place a blockbuster action flick against another blockbuster action flick. You won't gain any money and other companies will be unhappy. You CAN however book a blockbuster action flick a week AFTER one came out in hopes to stop its run.
.) Box office is not based on star power, but sypnosis, originality, and promotion.
.) You can promote your movie on your companies promo subboard.
.) After a finished project is posted on your board, the MPAA will post a rating for it within 7 days. Ratings will affect your results either positively or negitively.
.) You can team up with other companies but profits will be split in half between you. You must note that you are sharing with another company in your finished project sub-board.
.) If your company wins an Academy Award, you will recieve $150,000 extra dollars for each award. Awards are nominated in December, Awards are held in January.
.) Awards are voted on by the Academy. The Academy are a selected few from the site. They are not supposed to tell others that they are in the Academy or who else is. They are not allowed to vote for their own movies.
.) If a company goes bankrupt, and you do not have any more movies scheduled for release, we will allow you to keep your company for four weeks in hopes that profits will raise, but your company will be either sold and all rights move to another company, or it will be closed down if they don't.
