DESIRE PICTURES OPENS IN HOLLYWOOD
Desire Pictures opened their doors for business today. The new film company will take a stab at ending a sub-par box office period in Hollywood.
“We already have a set of great films ready to march into theatres this year,” commented Desire Pictures President GeekFreek, “We think each film has the potential to be a major Hollywood hit and could possibly turn around the decline box office trend as of late.”
Desire Picture plans to announce their entire 2006 year line-up on Wednesday, including the “movie event of the Summer,” according to GeekFreek.

DESIRE PICTURE UNVEILS 2006 FILM LINE-UP
Desire Picture announced their seven-film 2006 year line-up today. The list includes many sure-to-be-hit films.
The two most notable films are this Summer’s The Eyes of the Dragon and December’s Atlantis 5, both of which should be major blockbusters for the year.
The Eyes of the Dragon, based on the best-seller by Stephen King, will kick off the year for Desire Pictures on July 21. The fantasy epic, telling the story of Prince Peter’s fight to gain the thrown as the true King of Delain, cost a reported $120 million to make. Television networks will be flooded with tv spots over the next two weeks to advertise the film and posters should be up all over conventional theatres by the weekend.
Although less information is currently available on it, Atlantis 5 looks to be one of the big hits this holiday season. The film’s basic premise is set in the year 2265 when Earth has just build their first spaceship with the ability to travel at light speed. However, it quickly becomes apparent that the human understanding of space is not all-knowing yet when the spaceship and its crew finds itself instantly transported millions of lights years from home in a whole new galaxy. The film is currently scheduled for release on December 15.
The company has also green-lighted four films for the 2007 year. Only titles of those films have been leaked: Light of the Mask, Drug X06, Honeymoon Heartache, and Whisper.
Desire Pictures’ other 2006 releases include the sexy teen comedy Beach Boys (August 18), the pre-teen girls flick Mischievous Girls (September 8), the romantic comedy satire Passionate Fruit (October 13), the biopic on superstar Shania Twain, titled Eileen (November 3), and the holiday family film Kris Kringle (November 24).

DRAGON SEQUEL BREWING?
With the strong performance The Eyes of the Dragon has had at the box office, rumors of a sequel were inevitable.
The film has been well received by audiences and the demand for a sequel is definitely there, but Desire Pictures has still not announced the possibility of a sequel.
"The novel that the film is based on is one of Stephen King's finest," said President GeekFreek, "He does leave the story open for a sequel, which is the same road we took in the film. But we would hate to decredit such a great story with a poorly conceived or unpopular sequel."
The company has neither confirmed or denied a sequel. However, part of the decision seems to be riding on the company's decision regarding another blockbuster being released this December, Atlantis 5.
GeekFreek commented, "We've been looking at the possibility for some time of turning Atlantis 5 into a space franchise. That film also has an open ending and we've already invested millions of dollars into producing scripts for additional adventures after the first film wraps up. We're concerned that we may be known as the 'sequel company' if we take our two tentpole films this year and expand them into franchises."
At this point, Desire Pictures continues to work closely with Stephen King and the screenwriters for any Atlantis 5 sequels to make the decisions that are best for the company's future.

DRAGON SEQUEL CONFIRMED
Desire Pictures announced the second and third installments to their blockbuster film The Eyes of the Dragon today.
"We're thrilled to be working so close with Stephen King on these sequels," President GeekFreek commented in a written statement, "Both scripts are just as good, if not, better than the original."
Desire Pictures had shared their concern with a sequel as they did not want to ruin what made the first film so popular. As a result, they've decided to create three films, each with its own plot and story, and end the series after the third film.
Sources say that the evil sorcerer Flagg will be hunted by the two princes Thomas and Peter, and his powers will grow stronger throughout the two future installments. There series will supposedly build up to a final showdown between Flagg and the two princes.
Desire Pictures has not yet announced a title for the films, but the second film should see its release on July 20, 2007. The third film will see its release a year after that on July 19, 2008.
As a result of the announcement, plans on the sequels to Atlantis 5, Desire Pictures major release this holiday season, have been put on hold until its release.
