Saturday numbers have been posted.
Redstar managed to increase from its strong opening on Friday to become the second film to have a single day gross greater than $20 million.
The numbers, although performing steady on the Saturday, are a little disappointing for some of the remaining films being tracked daily. Weekend totals, along with a full summary, will be posted tomorrow.

Exactly. After a movie is 2 weeks old they're taken off the daily charts, but you can find daily numbers whenever the spreadsheet is updated. (But theres no determining how often that is).

Sorry for the late update everyone, I found myself quite busy yesterday and didn't manage to post the numbers before the day ended. As a result, I will not post Monday's numbers today, but will post them along with Tuesday's numbers tomorrow to give everyone a little time to take a look at the weekend numbers. Again, my apoligies.

Without doubt, the Fantasy Box Office just experienced one of its strangest weekends ever. With abnormally large drops for most old releases, one film over performing, and one film largely under performing, it is a weekend that won’t soon be forgotten.
As expected, Redstar opened at the top spot. However, no one expected it to gross quite as much as it did. Coda Productions earned a hefty $54.72 million over the weekend with their futuristic space adventure. The clever combination of sci-fi and a typical thriller plot worked well. Averaging $14,042 per theatre, Redstar has a chance of holding the #1 spot again next weekend.
But whatever excitement can be found in Redstar’s opening may be overshadowed by the disappointment in Prophet. With a budget of $73 million and opening in 3,730 theatres, the film looked to open somewhere in the $20-25 million range. However, Gutman Studios’ mystery only garnered $14.9 million (opening in 5th) over the weekend. One can only hope that the film goes on to produce some strong legs so Gutman Studios doesn’t take too much of a hit so early in the game.
Performing solid numbers and narrowly opening in second (by only $10,000) was Exit Productions’ Transfer of Power with $19.13 million. Despite opening in under 3,000 theatres, the film grossed more over the weekend than three films playing in over 3,300 theatres.
The final newcomer of the weekend performed well numbers in its first week. Cool Catscratch Productions earned a fair $7.5 million over the weekend with their low-key romantic comedy Physical Therapy. With the seemingly good performances from chick flicks so far, this film should turn out a decent sized profit for the studio.
Two-week champ, The Eyes of the Dragon saw a steady drop of 41% in its third weekend to earn another $19.12 million at the box office. The fantasy epic has now grossed $169.2 million and is looking at a final tally of around $215-225 million.
Last week’s big opener The Not-So Blind also held well over the weekend. With another $15.1 million added to its revenue, the film has earned back its budget of $45 million and has grossed $53.2 million to date.
Although it dipped harder than last week, The Family Guy Movie managed to grab another $9.4 million over the weekend. With superior legs over the last four weekends, Charles Productions is looking to gain more profit from their $60 million budgeted comedy than Desire Pictures will earn from their $120 million budgeted The Eyes of the Dragon.
With such a competitive set of newcomers entering the market, most of the older releases fell hard over the weekend. San Francisco Midnight (-50%), Tourists (-52.1%), The Undertaker (-48.7%), and 4% Famous (-52.2%) all saw drops a lot larger than many would have anticipated. However, the harshest drop went to Love Lost which dipped a severe 65.8% from last weekend. With such a strong debut, it’s difficult to place why the film has been under performing in its following weeks.
However, hope can be found with One Size Fits All. The quite limited release dropped only 28% in its second weekend to earn another $5.3 million, bringing its total to $17.4 million.
